Mid summer, and it's hot out there. The rivers and waterholes are full, the wildlife is fully dispersed across the veld. many of the young have been born and nursery herds are grazing watched over by a matriarc or alpha male. the grass are plants are very nutrious during this month, and it's time for the young to grow and the females who have calves, cubs etc to regain strength and condition for the impending dry season.
February is the month when floods are lost likely to occur. Vleis occur, these are seasonal and usually shallow lakes.
