3 day / 2 night Kruger National Park safari staying at Skukuza restcamp in the Kruger National Park. Classic Kruger National Park Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Gauteng – Kruger Park
Between 06h30 – 08h00 you will be collected from your Johannesburg accommodation, and will wind your way through the Highveld, down the escarpment and through the scenic Lowveld area. We stop for lunch en-route (own expense) and reaching Kruger National Park in the afternoon.

After settling in, you will head out on your first game drive; a sunset drive with a Kruger Park rangers. Sunset drives offer an opportunity to view diurnal and nocturnal wildlife which may not be sighted on day drives. This is not a private game drive and there may be other guests on this drive.

Dinner is a three course meal, served al fresco at our private camp within Skukuza.

Day 2: Full day in the Park
It's an early start for the first game drive of the day, which will take approximately 3-4 hours. Your guide will use their intimate knowledge of the park, which contributes a great deal towards brilliant sightings!

On returning to Skukuza, breakfast/brunch will be ready at our camp. You then have time to enjoy a swim, or a snooze or any of the camps facilities. Skukuza is also a bird watcher’s paradise! Be sure to bring along your binoculars!

Then a second game drive with your guide. All our game drives are in specially adapted 4x4 open game drive vehicles to allow our guests the best possible vantage point.

In the evening we share safari stories at the camp fire under the stars after a scrumptious dinner served at our camp.

Day 3: Kruger – Gauteng

Today is your choice: one last game drive in an open vehicle OR the Mpumalanga panoramic route.

Option 1 is a final game drive in search of any animals which have eluded us so far. them breakfast back at camp before beginning the journey back to Johannesburg. The drive back takes at least 6 hours and guests are advised to sleep over in Johannesburg on this night.

Option 2: (free of charge)
We offer an optional excursion to visit select attractions along the Panorama Route in all our Kruger Safaris. We stop in one of the small towns en-route for breakfast (included) and visit attractions such as the Blyde River Canyon, Three Rondavels, Lisbon Waterfalls and God’s Window. We return to Skukuza at around 11h00. This excursion is available free of charge, replaces one of the morning drives and will be co-ordinated by our staff while you are on safari with us. (Should all guests departing on the same day opt to join this excursion, we will start with a game drive of about 1½ hours in our closed transfer vehicle en-route to the gate, followed by visiting the Panorama Route and then returning to Johannesburg without coming back to Skukuza.)

Classic Kruger Safari Accommodation

Accommodation is in en-suite chalets with beds, linen, towels & soap. These chalets have a small fridge, air conditioning and mosquito proofing on the doors & windows.
