4 Day Kruger National Park Camping Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Gauteng – Kruger Park
After being picked up from your accommodation, we wide our way through the wide open spaces of the Highveld, down the escarpment and through the scenic Lowveld area. We stop for lunch en-route (own expense) and reach the Kruger National Park in the afternoon.

After settling in to your walk-in tent in our private camp within Skukuza Restcamp, it's time for SAN PARKS sunset drive with Kruger Park rangers. A sunset drive affords you the opportunity to see nocturnal animals that are more active at night.

Dinner is a three course meal served with an accompanying wine, served al fresco at our private camp within Skukuza. (Dinner included)

Day 2 & 3: Full day in the Kruger National Park
After an early wake-up call, coffee, tea and rusks, we head off on the morning safari for approximately 3-4 hours. Your guide has an intimate knowledge of the park, which contributes a great deal towards brilliant sightings and an insight into behaviour!

Breakfast/brunch will be ready at our Skukuza camp when we return. You then have time to enjoy a swim, visit the Stevenson memorial museum, have a nap or enjoy facilities at the camp.

After a siesta we set off on the afternoon game drive, for more wildlife sightings. All our game drives are in specially adapted 4x4 open game drive vehicles to allow our guests the best possible vantage point.

We share safari stories at the camp fire under the stars after a scrumptious dinner served at our camp.

Day 4: Kruger – Gauteng

Today is your choice: one last game drive in an open vehicle OR the Mpumalanga panoramic route.

Option 1 is a final game drive in search of any animals which have eluded us so far. them breakfast back at camp before beginning the journey back to Johannesburg. The drive back takes at least 6 hours and guests are advised to sleep over in Johannesburg on this night.

Option 2: (free of charge)
We offer an optional excursion to visit select attractions along the Panorama Route in all our Kruger Safaris. We stop in one of the small towns en-route for breakfast (included) and visit attractions such as the Blyde River Canyon, Three Rondavels, Lisbon Waterfalls and God’s Window. We return to Skukuza at around 11h00. This excursion is available free of charge, replaces one of the morning drives and will be co-ordinated by our staff while you are on safari with us. (Should all guests departing on the same day opt to join this excursion, we will start with a game drive of about 1½ hours in our closed transfer vehicle en-route to the gate, followed by visiting the Panorama Route and then returning to Johannesburg without coming back to Skukuza.)

Kruger National Park Camping Safari Accommodation

Spacious cottage tent equipped with beds, mattresses, sleeping bags & pillows for all Camping guests (Skukuza only). Ablutions are shared and serviced very regularly. Guests must bring their own towels and soap.

The tents are in Skukuza Restcamp, the largest of the Kruger National Parks camps. We have our own private camp with Skukuza accessible only to our clients. This is where we you will enjoy your chef prepared meals and can relax around the campfire in the evening.

All of our guests have acces to the full facilities of the Skukuza Restcamp including the swimming pools.
